feeble life of an unlikely mortal
Her face crimson with freckles,
her eyes depressed and lifeless,
her dark rings under them told many sleepless nights,
the thousandth time she woke up in fright.
Her fragile frame, so brittle and light,
yet she stood there with her fist clenched tight.
Her monster roared with much danger,
still, she waited for to take her stride.
She wanted no more than another sleepless night,
quietly dream of her love, her knight.
Still, she stood there, waiting to attack,
before she knew it, It crushed her flat.
All she wanted was her knight and rest.
The bravery to stand up for what she longed for.
She knew taking down the monster would be a test,
but all she's got was nothing left and rather give her all.
I screamed as I jumped up from my sleep,
the monster saw me and ready to eat.
I breathed hard to break free.
I turned around,
it wasn't a dream
